Vector an image with Photoshop Elements 5.0 or 6.0? Tutorial? Help?!?
For my photoshop class final, I have to photoshop an image an then have it laser engraved on glass or tile. Because the laser engraver cannot pick up fine details like freckles or hair strands I need to make an clip art like picture (vector image). The program I normally use to photoshop is Elements 5 or 6. However on most of the tutorials I have seen to vector an image in photoshop, it requires the use of the Pen tool, which elements does NOT have. So, is it possible to vector an image and if so is there a tutorial where I can learn how or could you please explain how to do this (step by step)!?!?! Thanks!!

It doesn’t need to be a vector image for your purpose but it does need to be high contrast with well defined edges so chose the type of image carefully then try Filter – Stylize – Find Edges then convert the image to Grayscale and then Sharpen Edges for a more pronounced effect. You may need to tidy it up a bit but that should go some way to achieving a result. Hope that helps.
