I’m looking for an artist – anyone heard of “RU ISRAEL”?
I have a 4′x4′ dark mosaic with that name at the bottom. (2 dots above the A, don’t know how to do that on a computer). I know a lot was paid for it but I want to know who made it first and why everyone gets the creeps when they look at it. My 1 year old son wouldn’t look at it, he’s 4 now and still avoids it.
I’m going to go out on a limb here. (Mostly because I’m not familiar with the artist) By any chance is the mosaic a religious piece? If so, could it have been done by a rabbi? I do know that many Hasidic Jewish rabbis of the 1700’s were referred to as R.Israel Rabbi (insert name here). Could this have been in reference to his title vs. his name? *shrugs* Like I said…….I know nothing.
